The Ventura County Civil Grand Jury recommends proactively educating all deputy sheriffs on presumptive workers’ compensation, including the deputies’ specific responsibilities during the claims and treatment process. It is recommended that this training takes place within three years of first employment, but after their initial academy and on-the-job training, with plans to be completed by December 31, 2026.
