Finding F2.12
DMH clinicians in Antelope Valley and the Inner City have higher caseloads and are more susceptible to burnout because of a shortage of field clinicians in these locations. Most clinicians prefer to work in other locations due to the distance of their homes from Antelope Valley, and they prefer fewer complex cases than the ones at Inner City offices.

Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (consolidated County departmental response)
DMH partially disagrees with higher-caseload and complexity characterization, citing contracting capacity and FY 2026-27 movement toward parity. Response does not supply comparative caseload data or directly explain burnout and location preferences.
Read official response · PDF page 21Identifies disputed caseload and complexity claims and explains capacity response. Rationale is incomplete for staffing preferences and burnout and relies partly on future parity rather than current comparisons.
