The Next Wave in Tsunami Warnings in Humboldt

The jury reviews tsunami education, hazard-zone communication, declining siren coverage and wireless-alert targeting. Eight findings and seven recommendations address public messaging, proposed blue-line markings, visitor maps, kiosks and evaluation of geolocation. The Sheriff’s signed response agrees with three findings and distinguishes address-registered Humboldt Alert from geographically targeted federal WEA. Its claimed implementation and analysis do not independently establish that every requested comparison, funding evaluation or report was completed. This retrospective report is not current evacuation guidance.
